This is from the first anime I became a fan of. I always fall for the character whos power is water ^_^

Things I wanted to test in this piece how I could use my non-waterproof inks and play around with detail on top of wet-on-wet washes.

I bought these colored inks becuase I respect the brand, only to find out that they aren't waterproof! though I did a couple light washes over the inks and they didn't move. Maybe this different watercolor paper I'm using made a difference. My word of advice though, if you want to watercolor over inks, buy waterproof ink!

I put on some light washes of the blue and brown for the rocks. I didn't do that much as I would have done. I love how the color of the rocks turned out. Then I inked with colored and india ink over my pencil. I detailed Cye more with darker washes and more controled watercolors, being careful to avoid the colored ink. I then detailed the entire piece with opaque white gouache. It amazes me what detail it brought to the water, I like that a lot. Time estimate from pencil to finish is 4.5 hours.
